Really useful writing advice from Mark Twain.Mark Twain said, “Substitute ‘damn’ every time you’re inclined to write ‘very:’ your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be.”

Unnecessary qualifiers are a plague on modern writing. Everything is super cool, extra awesome and totally epic. As we pile on the adjectives, language loses its meaning.

As you’re writing, take the time to make sure you’re using the right words, rather than investing your time in heaping a bunch of meaninglessness into your manuscript.
